Summer Internships 2026 (with a view to possible employment) at SV Law
Paralegal (Litigation)
About SV Law
SV Law acts for local authorities in educational placement disputes before the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST). We also act for schools in disability discrimination cases, and, more occasionally, parents in their appeals to SENDIST. We act in broader education matters including school admissions and exclusions. There is also often overlap with other jurisdictions such as the Court of Protection and Family Court and regular High Court Judicial Review litigation. The Role of Paralegal at SV Law
Our team of paralegals work closely with our solicitors Mr Satnam Virdi and Johanna Williams. There is the opportunity for a very high amount of client contact, including attending meetings and taking witness statements from professionals.
Our paralegals typically demonstrate a social conscience and an interest in public policy issues. We are looking for confident communicators (verbal and written) with good IT, research and analytical skills.
Unusually, our more experienced paralegals are encouraged to advocate (with full support) at telephone hearings with Judges and even at the more routine substantive hearings before the SENDIST. The role can also suit those considering a career change to the legal profession, or those with legal experience in one area of law who would like to learn more about the education and disability sector.
SV Law interns move onto cutting edge human rights firms, magic circle law firms and leading public and commercial chambers (11KBW, 39 Essex Chambers, Atkin Chambers, Twenty Essex, Temple Garden Chambers, 2 Hare Court, One King's Bench Walk by way of example) as well as both High Court and Court of Appeal Judicial Assistantship placements. In recent months, SV Law paralegals have secured pupillages at Doughty Street Chambers, Field Court Chambers, XXIV Old Buildings and 4KBW.
Very strong academics, a keen work ethic, and motivation to succeed in or explore the legal profession are essential.
Application method: Send a cover email and a standard CV to Mr Satnam Virdi at satnam.virdi@sv-law.co.uk and jwilliams@sv-law.co.uk.
Thank you to everyone who has applied to this role so far. Due to the high level of demand, we will be closing the application window for this position on 15/06/2026 at 17:00.
