Satnam Virdi
Principal Solicitor
Education: BA in Economics and Law from the University of Cambridge.
Professional Experience: Satnam spent a sabbatical year as elected Deputy President of the Students Union. He qualified in a large City law firm, before moving to Brent Council where he was Head of Litigation. Satnam established his own firm in 1994, focusing on human rights and local government litigation, particularly education and SEN law. He has recently taken over as Chair of the Education Law Association. He was also a state school governor for many years. He recently served as an Ombudsman with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Johanna Williams
Office Manager (Solicitor)
Education: BA in modern languages from the University of Cambridge. GDL from City University. Diploma in International Business.
Professional Experience: Johanna qualified as a solicitor and worked as a corporate lawyer at global law firm Eversheds. In addition to her legal career, Johanna worked in marketing for clients such as IBM, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard and others. She has volunteered in an international school. Johanna is fluent in French and German and has experience providing one-to-one tuition in French, German and English to primary and secondary school students.

Awards: Lord Denning Scholar at Lincoln’s Inn and won the Falcon Chambers Prize for the highest mark in the civil advocacy bar exams.
Professional Experience: James volunteers with the Cleaners Union in the Employment Tribunal.

Eda Gulsen
Senior Paralegal
Education: BA in International Relations and Politics from the University of Sheffield. GDL from the University of Sheffield. LLM in Public International Law from Leiden University.
Professional Experience: Eda has previously worked in the charity/NGO sector, on human rights specific matters. Eda also has experience working on group claims in a claimant law firm. Eda is fluent in German and Turkish.

Nicholas Martin
Paralegal
Education: First-class BA in Law specialising in human rights from the University of Middlesex. Nicholas is currently completing his LLM at Middlesex University, to further his understanding of International Human Rights.
Professional Experience: He completed successful internships in two London-based organisations working in turn on accountability for crimes against humanity in Myanmar, and child welfare in the UK.

Geordie Cheetham
Paralegal
Education: BA in History and French and MPhil in Comparative Literature from the University of Cambridge.
Awards: Winifred Georgina Holgate Pollard Memorial Prize for highest mark in History and Modern Languages tripos.
Professional Experience: Geordie has previously worked as an Operations Advisor at an international security-themed summer school, and has experience tutoring primary school-aged children. He is fluent in French.

Professional Experience: Aditya previously worked as a Case Work Manager at the Home Office, with his team making immigration and asylum decisions on behalf of the Home Secretary. He also has experience working as an independent admissions appeals panelist on behalf of the London Borough of Lambeth.

Benjamin Deery
Paralegal
Education: BA (Hons) in English from the University of Cambridge. GDL from the University of Law.
Awards: Queen Mother Scholar at Middle Temple. Benjamin is also the recipient of a Diplock GDL scholarship and a Harmsworth Entrance Exhibition from Middle Temple, and a Law First Scholarship from the University of Law.
Professional Experience: Benjamin has worked in public sector organisations such as the General Optical Council and the Charity Commission, as well as for the trade association TechUK. He volunteers as a representative for the Cleaners and Allied Independent Workers Union, and has worked as an SEN assistant in South West London. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Benjamin was a professional theatre, television and film actor for nearly two decades.

Heather Burrows
Paralegal

Awards: College scholar in English at Peterhouse, University of Cambridge.
Professional Experience: Heather has completed two mini-pupillages in Criminal Law. She has also worked as a full-time researcher for a documentary company. Heather ran various workshops on behalf of Effective Altruism Cambridge for school children during the Summer holidays, and worked as a mentor for other Cambridge students via the organisation.
